There are many great ways to market a pet sitting business. I have recently dropped some forms of advertising and marketing and am trying to find some new ways to market my business to reach potential clients I haven't reached in past campains.
So...what has been your absolute best marketing tactic?

The repeated use of free press releases has been my best tactic and the use of my internet site.

Eindy - What topics have you used in your press releases that were successful? Also what has been your best place to target for press releases? (local paper, community newsletters, etc.)

The best marketing item for me are the signs on my van. I get most of my business from them.

My best marketing tip is Variety! I get more referrals from some sources than others, but each method I use generally gets me at least 1 or 2 new clients. So they all add up fast. The key for me is not to stick to the same thing every time, and to remember to mix it up often. www.petsits.com

I send free press releases for everything I can think of that might be published to my community and our big state wide paper.
If I hire someone - I announce it Anniversary in business Attend a pet sitting conference Offer a new service Participate in Wishbones For Pets
Anything I think they will ues as a filler. It works.
Need to do one right now!

Eindy - How often do they actually use something you send via press release?
